No U-Turns With God!
I already had today’s SOF post, Letting Go is an Act of Sacrificial Faith, substantially written when one of the FAM Fellowship members posted the following praise report on the men’s private website. And since everyone who visits here often knows how amazed I am with God’s mind blowing faithfulness to confirm EVERYTHING, it won’t be too surprising how much I loved this one! And I thank Dan for letting me share it here! Be blessed and encouraged and don’t let Satan cause you to take a U-turn…but IF he does, Praise God, He’ll get you right back on the right path…HIS PATH!
“Last night on the way home from work, I live an hour from my job, I had stopped at an outlet mall only to be disappointed that the Bible Bookstore had closed. All was not lost as the Nautica store is going out of business and had my favorite boxers on sale! Anyway, as I attempted to get back on the interstate to continue my trek home my car began sliding and I lost control of my car. I spun around and when everything came to a screeching halt I was headed in the opposite direction up against the steel guard rail.
My immediate thoughts were, I can’t afford a ticket right now nor can I fix my car. I jumped out of the car - not to assess the damage but to open the trunk, hit the button that reactivates the gas line, jump in my car and get out of there before someone stops and involves the police. (There was no damage to the guard rail!)
As I got back in my car, turned it around and headed home I thanked God that it was not as serious as it could have been. My mind and body began to react with thoughts and pain. I pulled over to the side of the road to check to see if my tail lights were actually functioning; they were. I began to consider what I was supposed to “get” out of this episode of life. Well, this is what I heard God saying to me:
The closer you get to me and the restoration of your marriage the more furious Satan is going to attack. It is easy to slide and end up going the wrong direction. Stay close to me, put all your faith and trust in me and when your faith is not enough, I will give you extraordinary faith beyond what you are capable of having in your humanity. Keep your engine running and I will get you turned around quickly and back on the correct path. Your trip will end safely as you reach your destination. The aches and pain will subside as you feel the warmth and safety of being “home” with me.
The last 20 minutes of my trip home I cranked up the praise songs and sang as loud as I could giving God the glory and praise that He is so worthy of. I told Satan that he was not going to kill, steal, and destroy my marriage or my family - I even laughed at him that he thought he could have victory over me and my family. I know God is working so fervently in my life and in healing and restoring my marriage. The message may not be directly related to your standing for your marriage but it is about faith and the presence of God in our lives.
My prayer for you is to be able to “let go” and let God be the driver on your road to a healed and restored marriage and your walk with Him.
ove and Blessings – Dan”
Dan,
All I can say is praise God you were safe. Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful praise report. As I read your last comments about letting go and letting God be the driver, instantly the song Jesus Take the Wheel came to mind. Its true, we can’t do this alone. We need him to take the wheel and drive for us. This definately coincides with my recent post of Stand Firm Using Faith As Your Guide. It it not awesome how God works this way. I love it!
MANY MANY BLESSINGS!!! Jenn
Hey Dan, that’s what I love about driving….you can pray and sing and kick the devil’s butt as loud as you want!!
