Don’t Give Up On God

For some reason, I’m sensing a heavy spirit of depression and discouragement this morning, so thought it might be a good idea to share something uplifting and encouraging. Regular visitors to the site know how much I appreciate and have been influenced by Revelation 12:10-11, because it says Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Therefore, we should all thank the Lord for the ministry of Bob and Charlyne Steinkamp, and thank them for sharing the encouraging and uplifting words of testimony from many men and women involved in their ministry, which are sure to defeat the devil when he tries to convince us that God doesn’t work miracles or restore marriages and relationships! So when you’re discouraged or doubtful, just read the thousands of testimonies sent into Rejoice Marriage Ministries. And DON’T forget Acts 10:34-36, which says Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. So what God has done for others, HE WILL DO FOR YOU! And Mark 11:20-24 (NKJV) makes it very clear why we HAVE to believe that, because it says Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

So, as Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) tells us, all we have to do is Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. And then we can rely on the awesome promise in Jeremiah 33:3, which says ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ And we can NEVER forget the instructions in Colossians 4:2, which says Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Dear Heavenly Father, I sense this morning that many are battling discouragement, depression and doubt, and since your word tells us that spiritual warfare is won by taking EVERY thought captive, making it obedient to Christ, I pray this morning for a shield of your love and power around the hearts and minds of anyone feeling discouraged, depressed, doubtful or oppressed today. I pray that You will bless us all with the mind of Christ and reveal yourself to us in a supernatural way, filling us with the peace, joy, confidence and promise we have as your beloved children. Open our eyes and ears, and our hearts and minds, as You pour your heart out to us and make YOUR thoughts known to us! Let us rest and bask in the power and glory of your enduring and everlasting love! And, Lord, in your infinite mercy and grace, I ask for a sign of encouragement for those who really need it today. You know us so well, because we are your creation, and You understand our human weaknesses and frailties. And You told us that we have not because we ask not, so we come before your throne now and ask for the special mercy and encouragement some may need today. You promise that if we seek, we shall find, and that if we knock, the door shall be opened, so we seek encouragement today and knock on the doors of heaven in search of your mercy, grace, provision, and power in our time of need. We thank You for your promise that when we call unto You, You WILL answer and show us great and mighty (unsearchable) things we do not know. We thank You for your promise that You will never leave us or forsake us. And above all else, we thank You for your beloved Son, Jesus, who died on the cross for us to give us victory over the devil, who came to kill, steal and destroy. But we know Jesus came that we might have life, and life more abundant! And Jesus told us that your kingdom is all about righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, so we ask that through the power of the Holy Spirit, you will guide us into the place of resting and abiding in the power and glory of your kingdom! And we thank You for the grace and strength You give us to live our lives in such a way that others WILL always see Jesus in us! We love You, Lord, and we praise You! We give You ALL praise, honor and glory! And it is in the most precious name of your Son, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.
